Each year a series of tests are conducted on the players of the NAB League (formerly the TAC Cup). The event is usually held at Maribyrnong College, though in 2020 the testing was done at home states due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. The TAC teams all came together for a testing day first in 2009, prior to that the testing was done in the regions. Girls were involved in Fitness Testing Day for the first time in 2017.
The fitness test results are made available to players, clubs and recruiters to see where aspiring AFL and AFLW players are at, then used as a comparison tool for the National, State and Rookie Me combines later in the year.
The current fitness tests for 2018 were:
- Height and weight
- Standing vertical jump
- Running vertical jump
- 20m sprint (5m and 10m splits)
- AFL Agility Test
- Yo-Yo 1RT2 test
Previous Tests
