2021 Tokyo Medal Tally

Here is the latest the medal tally for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Games. The USA and China were in a battle for the top of this list as in previous years (see the final 2016 table), though the home team Japan was always going to do well. You can compare this table to the predicted medal tally for 2021, and the analysis of the results.

Here is the final top medal count. Congratulations to Bermuda and the Philippines for winning their first gold medal ever. The host country Japan performed better than expected, though the United States and China teams led the way as predicted. 65 countries won at least one gold medal, 93 countries won at least one medal of any type.
