Team BeepTest Custom Scripts Library

These custom scripts are for use with the Team BeepTest Software. The software comes pre-loaded with a script for the standard Beep Test, plus a few other useful scripts, including most (if not all) of the scripts below. You can enhance your use of the software by using these custom scripts, and even gain more control of the software using these directions for creating your own.

Instructions

Download the complete custom script library. This is a compressed zip folder containing all the scripts below. Once saved, you will need to uncompress the folder, and place the files you require into the folder containing the team beeptest software. When you run the software, these scripts will then be available in your dropdown list of tests.

Custom Scripts

You can click on the link for each of the scripts below to see the contents of the file, but if you wish to add the script please use the method above to download all of them at once. Some people have had problems with corrupt files by trying to download and use the individual files below.

Script Filename Description
Standard Beep Test Standard Beeptest Script.txt As the filename says, this is the standard beep test script.
Example Script Example Script.txt This script comes standard with the software, as a demonstration of some of the editable commands, and a test that can be used for training. This test starts at level 5, run 3x20m followed by 12 second rest (repeated 3 times), then run 6x20m with 6 seconds rest (repeated 3 times), then jumps up to 6x20m at level 12, a 15 second rest then continues stepping up the levels from there.
Yo-Yo Intermittent Endurance Test L1 Yo-Yo IETL1 Script.txt Based on the timing for the Yo-Yo Intermittent Endurance Test (YYIETL1 ), with 5 seconds recovery after each 40m. See details.
Yo-Yo Intermittent Endurance Test L2 Yo-Yo IETL2 Script.txt Based on the timing for the Yo-Yo Intermittent Endurance Test (YYIETL2), with 5 seconds recovery after each 40m. See details.
Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test L1 Yo-Yo IRTL1 Script.txt Based on the timing for the Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test (YYIRTL1), with 10 seconds recovery after each 40m. See details.
Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test L2 Yo-Yo IRTL2 Script.txt Based on the timing for the Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test (YYIRTL2), with 10 seconds recovery after each 40m. See details.
30-15 IFT 30-15 IFT Script.txt There is a script included to conduct the 30-15 test, though because of software limitations the timings are a little different to the original test. The major change is pushing out the lap distance to 40m, and bringing down the activity time to 30 seconds (instead of the one-minute stages of the beep test) with a 15 second rest, giving a 45 second overall stage time. This makes each stage finish at the start point, instead of sometimes somewhere between. See more on the 30-15 Intermittent test.
SMAT Test SMAT Script.txt The Skating Multistage Aerobic Test (SMAT) is designed for ice hockey players. The test differs from the standard beep test in that it is conducted on ice and uses a 2:1 work to rest ratio. This script was created by Joseph Lorincz, Strength & Conditioning Coach of the New Jersey Devils. See more about the SMAT Test.
Repeat Level 8 Repeat Level 8 Script.txt This script will keep repeating the same speed (level 8 in this case). A good script for practicing at a certain level, or warming up at a low level. You can simply modify the file to repeat any level you wish.
Metronome metronome script.txt This script turns the team beeptest software into a metronome, repeating beeps at regular short intervals (1 sec in this case). This script can be used for a sit up or push-up beep type test, or for step tests that require a set stepping rate. You can modify the script to get the desired rate.
Run and Rest Run and Rest Script.txt Run 20m shuttles at a constant speed (10km/hr) with 5 sec rest periods. You can easily modify the speed, distance and rest periods.
