Beijing 2008 Olympic Venues
At the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, more than half of the athletes competed in the 14 venues of the “Olympic Green”, adjacent to the Olympic Village. The other venues were located within 36km of the Olympic Village with the exception of sailing, football and equestrian.
Sailing was held in Qingdao City (on the east coast 690 km from Beijing) and football was held in three different stadiums around Beijing and at four other cities across China. The equestrian competition was moved to Hong Kong to avoid any quarantine issues.
