The UEFA Champions League is an annual football club competition played between the European national league champions and other top clubs from Europe. At the time it was called the European Champion Clubs' Cup (though commonly known as the "European Cup").
The final of the 1967 European Cup was played at Estádio Nacional, Lisbon, Portugal on May 25, 1967. The match was won by Celtic, Scotland, defeating Inter Milan 2–1. Celtic became the first British club to win the European Cup.
