2021 UEFA Euro Championship

The Euro 2020 was postponed until 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic (it was still called Euro 2020). It was the 16th time the UEFA Euro Championship has been held. The competition was held in 12 cities in 12 different European countries, from 11 June till 11 July, 2021. Several times previously it has been shared between two host countries, but never any more than that.

There was 23 teams competing. The semi-finals and final was heldat Wembley Stadium. The final was previously held there for the 1996 tournament.

Portugal was the defending champions, having won the 2016 event. In the final, Italy beat England in a penalty shootout. Scores were tied one all after extra time.
