Germany at the Euros
Germany's men's national football team has qualified for the UEFA European Championship (the Euros) 14 times (including 2024) - all tournaments since 1972. Their best performance is winning in 1972, 1980 and 1996. The team has also been runner up three times.
Germany's Record at the Euros
- 1972: Champion - defeated the Soviet Union in the final.
- 1976: Runner-up - Lost to the Czechoslovakia in the final.
- 1980: Champion - defeated the Beligium in the final.
- 1984: Group stage.
- 1988: Semi-finals - Lost to the Netherlands.
- 1992: Runner-up - Lost to Denmark in the final.
- 1996: Champion - Germany won their third European Championship, defeating the Czech Republic in the final.
- 2000: Group stage.
- 2004: Group stage.
- 2008: Runner-up - Lost to Spain in the final.
- 2012: Semi-finals - Lost to Italy.
- 2016: Semi-finals - Lost to France.
- 2020: Round of 16
- 2024: Germany again qualified for Euro 2024, and were beaten in the quarter-finals.
