2024 Ballon d'Or Results (men)

The Ballon d'Or Award is an annual football award for the best international football player from the previous season. The award is voted by a panel of selected journalists from the top football playing countries.

The 2024 award is to be decided over the 2023/24 season and taking into consideration performances in any international tournaments. This is the third year of the new voting period. The award has now aligned with the regular football season, while before 2022 it was judged based on the previous calendar year.

In the lead up to the winner being announced, there will be 30 nominees announced. A gala ceremony to announce the winner will be held at the end of October 2024, at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris (as in recent years).

The 2023 Ballon d'Or winner was Argentinian Lionel Messi, winning a record eighth award. 2023 is expected to be his last Ballon d'Or, particularly if he continues to play for Inter Miami in the MLS. The early favorite to win in 2024 is Englishman Jude Bellingham, who plays as a midfielder for La Liga club Real Madrid.
