Al Khalifa Sports Complex (Khalifa International Stadium)

Al Khalifa Sports Complex is located in Doha, Qatar, and includes the Khalifa International Stadium or National Stadium. The stadium was originally opened in 1976, before being fully renovated in 2005 for the 2006 Asian Games. The capacity was increased from 20,000 to now hold up to 50,000 for football matches.



The stadium was used for the 2006 Asian Games opening ceremony. It is used for a range of sports, and will be one of the stadiums used for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

For the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the following matches will be held in the stadium: 5x Group Matches, 1x Round of 16, Match for Third Place.
