Myanmar have never qualified for the World Cup Finals.

- Myanmar is one of several teams that have been banned from participating at the World Cup. Myanmar pulled out of a qualifying match for the 2002 World Cup which was scheduled to be played in Iran. They were fined 23,500 dollars by FIFA and were banned from the 2006 tournament.
- Myanmar were initially banned from the 2018 FIFA World Cup for crowd trouble during a 2014 World Cup qualifying tie against Oman, however they successfully appealed the ban though had to play all their home qualifier matches outside the country.
