The only man to have played both World Cup Football and World Cup cricket is Viv Richards — playing for Antigua and Barbuda in football (in the qualifiers for the 1974 World Cup) and for the West Indies at cricket. He played in a World Cup qualifier game, well actually a qualifying round of the CONCACAF championship, which in turn was the qualifier to get into the World Cup of 1974.
