San Marino at the Winter Olympics

San Marino is the fifth smallest country in the world and the third smallest in Europe (after the Vatican and Monaco). San Marino entered into the 1960 Summer Olympics for the first time, and made its first appearance at the Winter Games in Innsbruck, Austria in 1976. The country has been to all Winter Olympics since then except in 1980 and 1998. However, the nation is still looking to capture its first-ever Olympic medal.

San Marino competed at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics in Russia. The nation fielded two athletes in alpine skiing and one of which was the nation's first female competitor at the Winter Games. In 2018, San Marino was represented by one athlete, alpine skier Alessandro Mariotti.
