The 2019 Tour de France was the 106th held. It started in Belgium on July 6th 2019. The start of the 2019 Tour 'the Grand Départ' was in Brussels in honour of the 50th anniversary of the first Tour de France win of Eddy Merckx.
The general classification was won by Egan Bernal, the first win by a Colombian. It was also the first time for Team Ineos (previously known as Sky), to make it a 1-2 as defending champion Geraint Thomas finished second overall.

Trivia
- In 2019 it was the second time the Grand Depart took place in Brussels, and the fifth Grand Depart in Belgium.
- Canadian Michael Woods became the first person to have run a sub-4 minute mile and also finish the Tour de France.
