Olympic Games Countries and Host Cities

When choosing locations for the Olympic Games, the IOC specifically gives the honor of holding the Games to a city rather than a country. London will be hosting the Games for a record three times in 2012, though cities in the USA have hosted the Games four times (also also the Winter Games four times).

Out of interest, here is a list of countries and the number of times they have had a city host the Games. See also the list of host cities.
