Eswatini (Swaziland) at the Olympics

The sovereign state of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) made its first-ever appearance at the Summer Olympic Games in 1972. The nation skipped the two next Olympics but showed up again in the 1984 edition of the Games which was held in Los Angeles and participated in the quadrennial from then on.



The nation has been represented by the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association since 1972.

In the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games, Eswatini sent two athletes that competed in the track and field competition. Sibusiso Matsenjwa and Phumlile Ndzinisa competed in the men’s 200meter and women’s 100m respectively but failed to progress into the next round.
