Palau at the Olympics

Palau was part of the Trust Territory of Pacific Islands (administered by the United States) and gained independence on October 1, 1994. In 2000, Palau made its debut in the Summer Games by sending five athletes to Sydney, Australia to represent them in three sports (Athletics, Swimming and Wrestling). From 2000 to 2008, Palau has only participated in three sports but in 2012, they tried their hand in Judo and weightlifting as well.

Since their debut in 2000, Palau has participated in every Summer Games but they are yet to attend their first Winter Games or win their first Olympic medal.
