The city of Nantes is situated between the Loire Valley and Brittany. It is france's sixth largest city. It is the old capital of Brittany and it situated on the banks of the Loire River, 55 km away from the Atlantic Ocean.

Some of the things for a tourist to do in Nantes, if not watching rugby, is to take a walking tour of this medieval city, visit nearby La Baule, explore the Joles Verne museum and Musee des Beaux-Arts.
