Although there was a Fortunate 50 list of top earning US athletes for 2004, there was no International 20 list this year. The first 'International 20' list was in 2005. As there is no official list, the following is considered just an estimate.
In an article about the 2004 Fortunate 50 list of top US athletes, some of the 'missing' internationals were quoted as being German F1 driver Michael Schumacher (who would have been No. 2 with $71 million), British soccer player David Beckham ($30 million) and Czech hockey star Jaromir Jagr ($14 million). There may also have been other athletes earning enough to make the list, but that is all that was listed.
Money figures (USD) are total earnings (salary, winnings, endorsements and appearance fees).
