The Trisome Games is an international multi-sport competition for athletes with Down Syndrome. The event was created by the president of the Italian Federation of Sports for Intellectually and Relationally Disabled (FISDIR) Marco Borzacchini, and organized by the Sports Union for athletes with Down Syndrome (SU-DS).
The first Trisome Games were held in 2016 in Florence Italy on 15 - 22 July, and planned to be held every four years. At the inaugural event, the sports included Athletics, Futsal, Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics, Judo, Swimming, Synchronized Swimming, Table Tennis, and Tennis. There were one thousand athletes from 36 different nationalities competing.
The second games were planned for Turkey in 2020, but like many sporting events at that time they were canceled due to the corona-virus pandemic.
The second Trisome Games are scheduled for 19-26 March, 2024 in Antalya, Türkiye. The sports on the program are Athletics, Basketball, Futsal, Gymnastics, Judo,
Synchronized Swimming, Table Tennis, and Tennis.
