BRW Top 50 Sports Earners for 2007
Here are the top earning Australian sports people for the year 2007, as published by the Business Review Weekly (BRW) magazine. Just the top 10 of their "Top 50 Sports Earners" list is shown. The list is compiled by BRW journalists and includes gross wages, prize money, sponsorships and endorsements. See other BRW Top Earners from other years, and also how these compare to the international top earner lists.
Golfer Greg Norman has top spot for the 11th straight year (since the list began!), even though he earned just over $500,000 from tournament results in the last year. Athough all on this list are Australian, none of the top 10 are based in Australia.
Australian basketballers Lauren Jackson ($1.2 million) and Penny Taylor ($1.1 million) are the only women inside the top 50 (48th and 50th respectively). The top ranked cricketer was Adam Gilchrist at 21st position with $2.2 million, with Ricky Ponting not far behind.
