BRW Top 50 Sports Earners for 2004

Here are the top earning Australian sports people for the year 2004, as published by the Business Review Weekly (BRW) magazine. Just the top 10 of their "Top 50 Sports Earners" list is shown. The list is compiled by BRW journalists and includes gross wages, prize money, sponsorships and endorsements. See other BRW Top Earners from other years, and also how these compare to the international top earner lists.

Golfer Greg Norman has top spot again, as he has since the list began in 1997. This is despite winning less than $30,000 on the course in 2004. There were 18 golfers in the top 50, and 13 soccer players.

The highest-paid of five cricketers to make the list was Ricky Ponting, with $2.24m. Two women made the top 50 list, with tennis player Alicia Molik ($1.1m) in 41st place and golf's Karrie Webb ($1.01m) scraping in at 48th.
