BRW Top 50 Sports Earners for 1999

Here are the top earning Australian sports people for the year 1999, as published by the Business Review Weekly (BRW) magazine. Just the top 10 of their "Top 50 Sports Earners" list is shown. The list is compiled by BRW journalists and includes gross wages, prize money, sponsorships and endorsements. See other BRW Top Earners from other years, and also how these compare to the international top earner lists.



Golfer Greg Norman has top spot again, as he has since the list began in 1997. He is only 77th on the World PGA Tour money list, but makes most of his money elsewhere. Golf continues to be the sport to play if you want to earn big bucks - there were 17 golfers in the top 50, including the top placed female Karrie Webb at number 8. There were two cricketers making the top 50, Shane Warne and Mark Taylor.
