Neckarstadion Stadium

The Neckarstadion is located in Stuttgart. Before 1993 it was called Neckarstadion, named after the nearby river Neckar. Between 1993 and July 2008 it was called Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion. From the 2008-09 season, the stadium was renamed the Mercedes-Benz Arena. A high tech roof was added to the stadium prior to the 2006 World Cup.

The capacity of the ground is 47,757 and the population of the city 590,000. This stadium was one of the 12 stadiums of the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
