Don Bradman or Sachin Tendulkar? These two players are often labelled as the best ever cricketers, but not everyone would agree. We ran this poll for over ten years (2011-2021), and over 10,000 people had their say. We presented a list of 10-top players and asked who do you think is the greatest male cricket batsman to ever play. The result was an overwhelming win by Sachin Tendulkar. Is he really the greatest? A current player who was not on the original list may have garnered quite a few votes too, Virat Kohli.

  It's easy to bat when you are not facing the likes of Akhtar, Akram, Younis, Marshall, Warne, Muralidharan, McGrath, etc. It is easy to bat when only a few hundred folks are tuning into your games. It's easy to bat, when you are considered a mere cricketer. SRT has batted in all conditions, and against the best pace and spin attacks in the world. He has dominated Australia, the best team when he has played. He has taken Warne to town, and uppercut Akhtar for a memorable six. He has the most runs, most centuries, most man of the match awards, most man of the series awards, and is the first man tor each a double hundred in ODI cricket. Cricket is my religion and Sachin is my god - a common saying uttered amongst Indian fans. I have seen god, he bats at number 4 for India - Matthew Hayden. Sachin is a genius, I'm a mere mortal. Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is the greatest batsmen of all time, case closed.

  If you speak truth then that could be either Don Bradman or Sachin Tendulker. Furthermore in case you compare amongst the two :
  The points in favour of sachin are :
  1. Sachin played in far more competitive cricketing era.
  2.Sachin batting is more seen, tested & examined.
  3.More than 30000 runs & 100 centuries in international cricket.
  4. The manner and style these runs were made.
  5. That he played quality cricket for an extraordinary period of more than 20 yrs.
  6. That he remained consistent throughout the said period.
  7. That he played equally well on all pitches, countries,circumstances & bowling types.
  8. That he played equally well in all formats of cricket.
  9. That he made all runs in extreme pressure situations.
  10. That being an Indian he was unfortunate to face the best bowlers of the world who were not the member of his team. On the contrary Australiains, West Indians batsmen were reatively luckier to not to face the best bowlers who were often member of their own team.
  11.That he had to play so exhaustively without any rest in between for 20+ years of modern competitive cricket.
  12. That he had relatively lesser quality backup of coaches, academics as compared to Australians
  13. Bradman never played on turning pitches of continent and the players of the continent of his time were inferior than the present players.
  14. Bradman played only on two pitches Australia & England
  15. Bradman era was less competitive. Modern day batsmen have to earn hard for every run. In that era the bowlers tend to surrender to bowl out the set batsmen.
  Even after all these points forwarded I give my vote to Don. But do not think they are all who feel sachin is greatest. There will always be serious debate about it.
