Uruguay at the Winter Olympics

Uruguay finally made its first ever appearance at the Winter Games in 1998 Nagano Winter Olympic Games. However, the nation was absent again in the 2002 to 2014 editions of the Winter Games.

The South American nation already won 10 medals at the Summer Olympics up until 2016, but unfortunately the nation is still aiming to bag its first ever medal at the Winter Games.

Uruguay fielded just Gabriel Hottegindre at the Nagano Winter Games. Hottegindre competed in the men’s slalom event in alpine skiing and finished 24th place.
