2022 Tour de France
The 2022 Tour de France, the 109th edition of the race, consisted of 21 stages covering a total distance of approximately 3,349 kilometers (2,081 miles). It was held from Friday, 1 July 2022 to Sunday 24 July 2022. The Grand Départ for the 2021 Tour de France was originally planned for the Danish capital of Copenhagen, but was transferred to Brittany due the coronavirus pandemic. The Grand Départ was held in Denmark in 2022, the first time the Tour de France had visited Denmark.
2017 Tour de France raceDanish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard of Team Jumbo-Visma won, securing his first overall victory. Vingegaard took the yellow jersey after Stage 11, a mountain stage with a summit finish at the Col du Granon in the Alps, where he launched a decisive attack and took a significant lead over his rivals. He maintained his advantage with strong performances in subsequent mountain stages and time trials, finishing the race with a lead of over three minutes ahead of the defending champion, Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogačar of UAE Team Emirates, who finished second. British rider Geraint Thomas of Ineos Grenadiers secured third place.
Tadej Pogačar, despite not winning the overall classification, showcased his aggressive racing style and won three stages, including key mountain stages, and took the white jersey for the best young rider for the third consecutive year. His continuous attacks and attempts to regain the yellow jersey provided much of the excitement throughout the race.

- Denmark will become the tenth country to host the Grand Départ of the Tour de France.
- The first edition of the Tour de France Femmes will have its first stage on the final day of the 2022 Tour.
