2016 Tour de France
The 2016 Tour de France, the 103rd edition of the race, featured 21 stages covering a total distance of approximately 3,529 kilometers (2,193 miles). The race began at Mont Saint-Michel in Normandy on 2 July 2016, and concluded with the Champs-Élysées stage in Paris, on 24 July.

British cyclist Chris Froome of Team Sky won, securing his third overall victory in four years. Froome demonstrated his dominance and versatility throughout the race, taking the yellow jersey after Stage 8, a mountain stage to Bagnères-de-Luchon in the Pyrenees. He maintained and extended his lead with strong performances in the mountains and innovative tactics, including a surprising downhill attack on Stage 8 and a brief solo ride during a flat stage.
Froome finished 2min 52sec ahead of French rider Romain Bardet (AG2R) and Colombia's Nairo Quintana (Movistar) 3min 8sec behind. The winner of the green jersey was Peter Sagan (SVK) of the Tinkoff team with 470 points. The winner of the polka-dotted jersey for he best mountain climber was also from team Tinkoff, the Polish rider Rafał Majka with 209 points.
