2015 Tour de France
The 2015 Tour de France event was the 102nd held. The event started (Grand Départ) from Utrecht, Netherlands, on 4 July 2015, and ran until July 26. There were 21 stages, covering 3,360.3 km (2,088 mi). The Tour started with an individual time trial over 13.7 km. At the start of the event, there was a total of 198 riders from 22 teams.

Froome took the yellow jersey after Stage 7, a summit finish at La Pierre-Saint-Martin, where he demonstrated his climbing prowess. He maintained his lead through consistent performances in the mountains and strong time-trialing, finishing the race with a lead of 1 minute and 12 seconds over Colombian Nairo Quintana, who finished second. Spanish rider Alejandro Valverde completed the podium in third place.
Peter Sagan of Slovakia won the green jersey for the points classification for the fourth consecutive year, showcasing his consistency in the sprints and intermediate sprints. The polka dot jersey for the King of the Mountains was awarded to Froome, highlighting his all-around strength in both climbing and overall classification. The white jersey for the best young rider was claimed by Nairo Quintana, further cementing his status as one of the top climbers in the peloton.
