Super Bowl LI - 2017
The 2017 Super Bowl LI was the 51st Super Bowl in American football played at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on Feb 5, 2017. This was the third Super Bowl to be held in Houston, the city previously hosted the event in 1974 and 2004.
aerial view of the NRG Stadium in HoustonThe game was played between the AFC champions New England Patriots and the NFC champions Atlanta Falcons. It was the Patriots' 9th Super Bowl appearance, the most Super Bowl appearances of any team.
The Falcons had a large lead at half time and were looking to win their first Super Bowl. In the greatest comeback in NFL postseason history, the Patriots managed to erase a 28–3 deficit to tie at the end of regulation time to send the Super Bowl to overtime for the first time. In the first possession of overtime, the Patriots scored a touchdown to win the game 34-28.
New England Patriots' Quarterback Tom Brady was named MVP (for the 4th time!).

- It was the first time overtime was played in Super Bowl history. The game was tied at 28 apiece after regulation time.
