The FIFA Women’s Club World Cup is a tournament that FIFA is planning to introduce for women’s club teams, similar to the Men’s Club World Cup. No date has been set for this new tournament, though it is scheduled to take place in early 2028 (and every four years following that).

Right now, women’s club football has strong leagues like the WSL (England), NWSL (USA), Division 1 Féminine (France), and Liga F (Spain), with dominant teams like Barcelona, Chelsea, Lyon, and OL Reign. But there hasn’t been a global tournament where these teams get to face the best from other continents, like South America (Brazil’s Corinthians) or Asia (Japan’s INAC Kobe Leonessa).
FIFA wants to launch this tournament to raise the profile of women’s club football, attract more investment, and create a global stage for the sport, just like the men’s version.
The format of the new 16-team Women’s Club World Cup will not be known until closer to that date.
A similar tournament will be held annually (except for years when the club world cup is held). The FIFA Women's Champions Cup, debuting in 2026. will feature the champion clubs from each of the six continental confederations.
