Demonstration Sports at the 1896 Olympic Games
The 1896 official Olympic Games report states that many and various sports were contested on April 12th 1896, however the report only lists two events, shooting and cycling.
A reader Nitzan Zilburg has provided me with information supporting the playing of football and cricket in 1896, as well as equestrian and boxing contested as demonstration sports. Probably all these sports were in the list of 'many and various sports'.
