Eswatini, formerly 'The Kingdom of Swaziland', is a small landlocked country in the east of Southern Africa, bounded to the east of Mozambique and elsewhere by South Africa.
Trivia
- Eswatini joined the Commonwealth in 1968 and made its debut in the 1970 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh and has attended each of the Games since. Until 2018, the country was known as Swaziland.
- Eswatini's first medal came at the 1974 Games in Christchurch when Richard Mabuza picked up a bronze for his time of 2hrs 12 mins 54.4 secs in the men's marathon.
- The 2022 Commonwealth Games was the first time the country was called Eswatini, after the name was officially changed in 2018.
