Singapore at the Commonwealth Games
Singapore is situated in South East Asia and lies just north of the Equator. It is separated from Peninsular Malaysia by the narrow Johor Straits. The name Singapore derives from the Sanskrit Singa Pura, 'City of the Lion'. Singapore has taken part in every Games since their debut in 1958. Singapore participated as a crown colony in 1958 and 1962, and as an independent Commonwealth country from 1966 onwards.
Singapore at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games
Singapore finished twenty-eighth at Glasgow 2026, the first Commonwealth Games staged with a reduced program of 10 sports. Singapore won 2 silver for 2 medals in total, competing without its most successful discipline, table tennis, which was not part of the slimmed-down Glasgow program.
With table tennis absent, one of the medals came in the pool, a breakthrough showing for Singapore's swimmers and the second medal was won in artistic gymnastics. The final medal standings, with Singapore's placing, are shown below.
