Mozambique at the Commonwealth Games

Mozambique is a nation in south-east Africa. It is a former Portuguese territory, though they joined the Commonwealth in 1995 and made their debut in the 1998 Kuala Lumpur Games.

Athletes from Mozambique took gold and silver on their debut in Kuala Lumpur in the women's 800m track final, with the legendary Maria Mutola claiming the first prize - a feat she repeated in the 2002 Manchester Games.
