BRW Top 50 Sports Earners for 2010

Here are the top earning Australian sports people for the year 2010, as published by the Business Review Weekly (BRW) magazine. Just the top 10 of their "Top 50 Sports Earners" list is shown. The list is compiled by BRW journalists and includes gross wages, prize money, sponsorships and endorsements. See other BRW Top Earners from other years, and also how these compare to the international top earner lists.

Formula 1 driver Mark Webber was top of the list (he was 4th in 2009), with motorsport competitors taking up 4 out of the top 6 positions. The big difference in this list compared to previous years is the absence of golfer Greg Norman, who had been top of all previuous lists (although he plays the occasional golf tournament the editors at BRW decided to remove him from the list this year to reflect the continual reduction in his playing commitments). US based basketballer Andrew Bogut was second on the list again. Ricky Ponting was the highest paid cricketer ($3.9 million). Samantha Stosur is the only woman to make this year's list, high in 15th position with $2.9 million earnings. An interesting addition to the top 50 was World Snooker Champion Neil Roberson at 47th position.
