The Shot Put Back Throw Test involves throwing an shot put for maximum distance, a measure of body explosive power.

The shot put overhead back throw is part of the Quadrathlon power test. Below are some test results from athletes performing that test. The world record for the shot put athletics event (using a different technique than this test) is 23.12m by Randy Barnes.
