Think about American Football played by women wearing lingerie as uniforms, what you get is Lingerie football. The sport originated as a Super Bowl halftime show and soon evolved into a full time sport of its own.
The field used is 50 yards long, and the game is played between two seven-player teams. Players wear shoulder pads, knee pads, elbow pads, and helmets with visors similar to that of ice hockey helmets.
The objective of the game is same as football where teams try to cover the length of the field to score points. There are several modifications made from American Football rules to make the game more suitable for women. It is still a full contact sport where players are tackled and brought down.
A match is played for four 10-minute periods. There are no field goals, points can be scored only in the form of touchdowns. After touchdowns, teams can go for 1-point conversion from the one yard line, or for a 2-point conversion from the three yard line.
Today, lingerie football is played in the United States, Canada, and Australia. The Lingerie Football League has recently been renamed as the Legends Football League, which doesn't quit have the same ring about it.
