Squash Fives is a new variation of the traditional sport of Fives, blending the classic handball skills with the convenience of the widely available squash court. Designed to breathe new life into the game of Fives, Squash Fives is a fun, fast-paced, and accessible sporting experience for players of all ages.

At its core, Squash Fives involves players hitting a soft, bouncy ball against the front wall of a squash court using a gloved hand. Gloves are recommended to minimize the sting from the ball and enhance playability. The aim is to strike the ball before it bounces twice, ensuring it hits the front wall above the board and stays within the court's playing boundaries — painted lines marking the court's upper limits are considered out of play.
Squash Fives can be played in Singles (two players) or Doubles (four players) formats. The game begins with a 'server' who hits the ball into play, while the opponent becomes the 'receiver'. The game continues with quick, strategic rallies, rewarding agility, timing, and precision.
Officially trademarked by the Rugby Fives Association in December 2024, Squash Fives is a softer, more accessible version of Rugby Fives. By adapting the game to squash courts and using a ball suited for indoor play, it opens up a huge network of ready-to-use venues — with over 4,500 squash courts available across the UK alone.
