Iran at the Winter Olympics

Iran, which is officially referred to as the Islamic Republic of Iran, first took part at the Winter Olympic Games in 1956 and participated in the event from then on except in 1960, 1980, 1984, 1988 and 1992.

Even though the Mid-East Asian nation already has won 68 medals in wresting, taekwondo, weightlifting and athletics at the Summer Games (incl 2016), it is still seeking to capture its first medal at the Winter Games.
