Since making its debut at the Winter Olympic Games in Lake Placid in 1980, Cyprus has never missed in participating in the event since then.
Cyprus is still devoid of National Olympic Committee since the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is not yet internationally acknowledged by the IOC. Hence, athletes from Cyprus are needed to compete under the flag of the Republic of Cyprus, otherwise, unwilling athletes may represent Türkiye, or another nation.
The nation sent just one athlete who competed in alpine skiing at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. The lone Cypriot entry failed to progress past the first round.
The Mediterranean nation is still seeking its first medal at the Winter Games.
