1979 World Netball Championships

The 1979 World Netball Championships were held in the West Indian nation of Trinidad and Tobago. A total of 19 national teams competed. There were no finals, the top 10 teams played off in a round robin.

Three teams finished on the same points: Australia, New Zealand and 'Trinidad and Tobago'. The rules at the time did not provide any other way of determining an outright winner, so the three teams shared the title.
