The World Friendship Games (WFG) is an international multi-sport event to be held as an alternative to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The event was originally planned be held in Russia from 15 to 29 September, 2024, shortly after the Summer Olympics in Paris. However, it was announced in 2024 that it had been postponed until 2025.
The opening and closing ceremonies will be held at the Luzhniki Stadium.
The World Friendship Games 2025 have been organized in response to the exclusion of many Russian teams and events from elite international sport.
Sports
The sports program will include over 30 sports, both Olympic and non-Olympic. Most of the events will be held in Moscow, a few in Yekaterinburg.
