The ICC Champions Trophy is a One Day International (ODI) cricket tournament. The ninth edition of the tournament will be held in 2025.
- Originally Called the ICC KnockOut Tournament – The first two editions (1998 & 2000) were known as the ICC KnockOut Trophy before being renamed the Champions Trophy in 2002.
- First Host & Winner – The first-ever edition in 1998 was held in Bangladesh, and South Africa became the first team to win it.
- A Shared Trophy – The 2002 final between India and Sri Lanka ended in a no result due to rain on both scheduled days, leading to the only instance of a shared title in ICC tournament history.
- Most Successful Team – India has won the tournament three times, while Australia has won it twice.
- England has hosted the tournament for the most times – 3 (2004, 2013, 2017).
- Sri Lanka are the only host team to win the tournament, in 2002.
- The 2025 event was played mostly in Pakistan, however, due to political tensions India played all its matches in Dubai, UAE.
