Gymnastics at the Commonwealth Games

Gymnastics is one of the Commonwealth Games sports. Gymnastics on the Commonwealth Games program includes two disciplines, Artistic Gymnastics and Rhythmic Gymnastics. Artistic gymnastics is now a core sport, with rhythmic gymnastics optional.

Artisitic Gymnastics was first held at the Commonwealth Games as a demonstration sport in 1974, before being included in the main programme in 1978. After a break it reappeared in 1990 and gymnastics has appeared at every games since.

Rhythmic gymnastics made its debut on the Commonwealth Games program in 1994, and has been included in every edition since, except for in 2002.
