Located in the Indian Ocean, the Republic of Maldives is an island country that has a total of 26 atolls from the Addu Attoll to the Ihavandhippolhu Atoll. It is known as Asia’s smallest island nation and the lowest lying country in the world with an average of only 1.5 meters above sea level. The Maldives is known for tourist for its beautiful beaches and impeccably clear waters that make it almost like the “Mecca” for divers and beach lovers as well as water sports enthusiasts.
