Australian Table Tennis at the Paralympic Games
Australia has had a strong presence in para table tennis at the Paralympics, in both wheelchair and standing classes. The sport is highly competitive, and Australia has produced notable players who have achieved success on the international stage.
Australia has won six gold medals in table tennis at the Paralympics:
1964 - Daphne Ceeney & Marion O'Brien women's doubles C
1984 - Terry Biggs Men's singles C1
2021 - Lei Li Na women's singles C9
2021 - Yang Qian women's singles C10
2024 - Yang Qian women's singles C10
2024 - Lei Lina & Yang Qian, women's doubles WD20
Notable Athletes
- Danni Di Toro - competed at her eighth Games in Paris 2024. Prior to 2016, she represented Australia in wheelchair tennis.
- Melissa 'Milly' Tapper was born with nerve damage in her right arm. She has competed at the Paralympics from 2012 to 2024, and from 2016 to 2024 she also represented Australia in table tennis at the Summer Olympic Games.
