Australian Volleyball at the Olympics

Beach Volleyball Success

Australia’s first-ever volleyball Olympic medal was won in Beach Volleyball by Kerri Pottharst and Natalie Cook, when they won the bronze in Atlanta 1996, behind the Brazilian pairing of Sandra Pires and Jacqueline Silva. Four years later in Sydney, the same pair won the gold medal before an hometown audience on Bondi Beach. Natalie Cook is one of three women to have competed at five Olympic Games for Australia.

Indoor

Only one Australian indoor volleyball team has ever qualified to play at the Olympic Games, the men's national team in Athens 2004.
