Australian Hockey at the Olympics

Australia has a great record in Olympic hockey. The first Australian men's team competed in Melbourne 1956 and since then they have finished no lower than sixth. The men's team, the Kookaburras, won the gold medal in Athens in 2004. The Australian women first played in 1984, and have won the gold in Seoul 1988, Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000.
