Under 18 Australian Football players who compete in the TAC Cup (now known as the NAB League) take part in a fitness testing day each year, in March before the start of the season. This video of the 2012 testing day shows the 20m sprint, vertical jump, AFL agility test and beep test. The current players (boys and girls) do the yo-yo test instead of the beep test. June 12th, 2015 · 1 Comment · Ice Hockey, Testing
The 2015 NHL Draft Combine has some new testing protocols, and a new location. It is now much easier to watch the action, and here is a video following the potential top draft pick Connor McDavid as he progresses through the fitness tests. Note the new vertical jump procedure using a force plate, and the Y-balance test. See descriptions of all the tests, and all results from 2015.
Polar BodyAge and OwnIndex Fitness Testing System
July 25th, 2013 · No Comments · Testing
The Polar BodyAge fitness assessment determines a single universal assessment unit with just a few simple tests – the physical body age. This promotional video goes through an actual test showing off all the features. It is a pretty cool universal system with all the tests integrated and results and fitness programs produced from the results. I particularly like the sit and reach test, using a cable system built into the unit. See more on the Polar BodyAge assessment, and the Polar Fitness Test (OwnIndex).
