The men’s marathon at the 1948 London Olympic Games in Great Britain was won by Argentinian runner Delfo Cabrera. Here is a video of the start of the marathon. This was an ill-tempered game, notable for the first two sendings off in a World Cup final. West Germany won their third title with a late penalty by Andreas Brehme. Argentina also became the first team not to score in a World Cup Final.
